I discovered the BS Global Business program at the Jindal School of Management in high school when researching reputable business schools. I always knew I wanted a global perspective on my career, something I can combine with other technical degrees and I was excited to find such a degree program at UT Dallas. Since starting with the BS Global Business program, I’ve had numerous experiences that have shaped my perspective as a student and a true global citizen.
As a student of the program, I spent a semester abroad studying International Business at the Vienna University of Business and Economics, taking classes with professors from all around the globe. The BS Global Business program also allowed me to spend ten days in Australia, learning about its strides towards innovation in business and supporting entrepreneurs (even including a surprise encounter with Australia’s Prime Minister).
Back home in Texas, the UT Dallas Global Business program opened doors to volunteering, collaborating with the World Affairs Council, event planning, a network of mentors, and internship opportunities. Aside from the experiences, this program gave me the necessary education to think globally, consider a rapidly changing global economy, and connect with peers and professionals that challenged my thinking and enabled my growth.
I graduated from the program with a job waiting, a professional network that reached outside the United States’ boundaries, friendships in Texas and various parts of the world, and happy memories. As an alumnus, I serve on the Advisory Council for the Center for Global Business, hoping to give back in whatever way I can to help the program sculpt an experience as unique and transformative as mine.
