Before I started my professional career, I studied Global Business at the University of Texas at Dallas – Naveen Jindal School of Management. I have a relatively diverse background, having lived half my life in Europe and the other half in the United States, so the program was a natural fit. During my time at the school, I learned a tremendous amount about international business, the cultural implications of working with people worldwide and thinking about the big picture. I also walked out with a network of young professionals with similar backgrounds and aspirations. These are people I consider some of my greatest friends today, years later.
Following the program, I continued to work hard and operate with the mindset of a continuous learner. This enabled me to reach a place professionally, which I wouldn’t have expected to reach this early in my career.
One of my aspirations was to work internationally and I have been awarded the opportunity to complete a secondment with our German firm over the next few years. I am working with people and clients worldwide and doing what I have always wanted to.
My experience at the Jindal School may have helped build a foundation as a professional, but I would not have identified the right career path for me as soon as I did, had it not been for Hubert Zydorek. Hubert was the program director of Global Business during my time at UTD and went above and beyond in his investment into the program and the students. His mentorship helped me find a career path that aligned with my strengths and passion for complex problem-solving.
