Making a Difference

I joined the BS in Human Resource Management program at UTD because I wanted to make a difference in organizations, people’s lives and my career. Events like DallasHR’s HRStars Gala allow HR professionals to get together and celebrate their accomplishments and the impact they have had within the industry.

While attending this event, I was able to network with several professionals and receive career advice I would not have otherwise come by, and it has impacted my decision to attend graduate school. All of the professionals were quick to include me, even as a student, and cited being a part of organizations like DallasHR as contributing to their success within the industry.

Events are Key to Networking

Attending this event and others hosted by DallasHR and the Society for Human Resource Management alike are not only inspiring for students like me but also offer a great opportunity to learn and connect with those in the industry. Hearing those who won awards speak on their careers, organizations and accomplishments was truly inspiring and has made it easy to get excited about my potential future in HR!

Do Conferences Help Your Career?

Do Conferences Help Your Career?

The first time I attended the HR Southwest Conference, I made a point to attend as many educational sessions as possible. Some were very beneficial in giving real-world information about certain subjects such as upcoming laws related to employment and relevant changes in legislation.
