I enrolled in the Master of Science degree program in Innovation & Entrepreneurship right after leaving Xerox Corporation in late 2017. I found the UT Dallas courses extremely interesting, and JSOM has assembled a great team of instructors that bring both academic and real-world credentials and experiences.
My UT Dallas (UTD) involvement went beyond the classroom and into the UTD Blackstone Launchpad, participating in the CometX Program, the Big Idea Competition, and numerous activities in DFW’s vibrant start-up ecosystem, including attending events at the Capital Factory, SXSW (in Austin), Health Wildcatters, RevTech, TechTitans, and Dallas Start-up Week. I also have returned to the Institute for Innovation & Entrepreneurship the past few semesters as a mentor for student startups.
Additionally, I had the chance to work with UTD startup HoboLoco with fellow MS I&E student and founder Rick Tett and served as a COO for a DFW healthcare technology startup for fourteen months. My interests in Innovation & Entrepreneurship led me to enroll in a second UTD JSOM MS degree in 2019, in Healthcare Leadership & Management, which I will complete this summer. I am currently participating in the UT System Archer Graduate Public Policy Fellowship and working at UTD’s Center for BrainHealth and being part of the UTD JSOM Graduate Healthcare’s inaugural cohort for its Elite Scholars & Leadership Program. I am looking forward to completing my programs soon and pursuing additional interests in healthcare innovation, public policy, entrepreneurial education, and advancement.
